Honey trap: Bengaluru beautician arrested

BENGALURU: The Banaswadi police have arrested two people, including a woman, in connection with a honey trap case for allegedly blackmailing and extorting money from customers, on Saturday.
The arrested have been identified as Hakkim Kom, 22, the beautician and her partner Chanchu Roy, 27. While Hakkim is a native of Manipur and is resident of Kammanahalli and Chanchu hails from West Bengal and is a resident of Govindarajpura, police said.
According to police, the two were working at a beauty parlour ‘Hair do spa and salon’ in Kammanhalli for the last one year. Hakkim Kom used to befriend the salon customers and share phone numbers with them.
Once the numbers are exchanged, Hakkim used to start messaging and develop physical intimacy with the men only to trap them later with the help of her aide. They would then threaten the victims to either pay money or they would file rape complaint.
The incident came to light after one of the victims, identified as George, a resident of Kammanahalli, fell into the trap and the duo had demaned Rs 10 lakh from him.
George filed a complaint in Banaswadi police station and the police arrested the duo. When they were questioned they confessed to the crime, added the police.
