Hyderabad: Teacher held for death of two
The teacher knew how to drive a car but did not have a driving licence.
Hyderabad: Vanasthalipuram police arrested a teacher, Thotla Bhagyamma, after two persons were killed by the car she was driving without a driving licence on Saturday evening. She was sent to judicial custody.
Bhagyamma, 35, a teacher at the Government High School in Kandukur, was returning home in Injapur after meeting a relative at BN Reddynagar in a car owned by her husband.
Though she knew driving for the past few years, she did not have a driving licence. On reaching Injapur Kaman and taking a turn into the lane, she lost control on the wheel and the car ran over three persons, killing two of them identified as Jangaiah and Jangamma, a couple in their early 70s. The third person identified as Anitha was injured.
She was booked under under a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and driving without licence. Her husband was booked for allowing her to use the car without a driving licence.
She was arrested and produced before the court. Anitha who suffered injuries, is said to be recovering in the hospital.
