Gangster Nayeem's wife arrested, guns seized
Police also recovered two AK 47s from the house and two other weapons.
Hyderabad: Nayeem had been frequently visiting Millennium Township as that was one of his main dens, where his wife also had been living for a while now. Mahbubnagar police arrested Nayeem’s wife Haseena Begum, 36, from the house, where he came to visit on Monday before the shootout. Police also recovered two AK 47s from the house and two other weapons.
Apart from Haseena Begum, police also arrested four more people including the caretaker of the house Abdul Mathin, his wife and two female relatives of Nayeem. However, Nayeem’s mother alleged that the police had already detained his wife and kids two days before the encounter from their Hyderabad house.
Senior police officials said they have booked fresh cases against the arrested people under the Arms Act on Tuesday. Nayeem had been using the house in Millennium Township for his land deals. Sources said the house was owned by a Hindu family, who rented it out to Nayeem.
The house still has a Hindu prayer room. Cops are searching for the owner now. “Prostitution, land deals and other illegal activities used to take place there. His associates used to bring parties to this house whenever a deal had to be made,” a source said.
Intelligence agencies had gathered this info from a snitch in Nayeem’s gang and chalked out a plan to trap him. That was what led to the encounter on Monday.
Meanwhile, Nalgonda police has launched investigations into Nayeem’s encounter and the ammo seized from his house.
