AP home minister says investigation to be done on Sriraj case
The minister told the media at Rajamahendravaram that action would be taken as per law
KAKINADA: Home Minister T Vanitha said on Tuesday that an investigation will be done into the complaint against former MP Harshakumar’s son G Sriraj who “sexually harassed” a 27-year-old girl.
The minister told the media at Rajamahendravaram that action would be taken as per law.
Speaking about the YSRC MP Gorantla Madhav’s nude video incident, Vanitha said if Madhav did anything wrong, action would be taken against him. The video was sent to the forensic lab to do necessary tests.
“When the forensic lab’s report comes, the facts would come out and action would follow. If it was proven that the video was morphed, then too, the guilty will be punished.”
She said that no woman on the video has lodged any complaint with the police so far. “An inquiry is under way based on the complaint given by Gorantla Madhav. The TD is viciously campaigning against the ruling YSRC with the help of some of the paid artists,” she said.
She said chief minister Jagan Reddy was empowering women socially and economically and introduced the Disha Act for the security of women. But, the TD was trying to spread mud on the ruling party.
Vanitha said that during the TD rule, the then chief minister could not take any action against the then Denduluru MLA Prabhakar who attacked a woman tahsildar. During the TD term, the then minister Ravela Kishore abused a woman, she said.
