Hyderabad: Body of 11-year-old exhumed
The parents of the boy suspect that the doctor might have administered a wrong injection resulting in his death.
Hyderabad: The body of Tarun, an 11-year-old boy, who died allegedly from a reaction to the treatment administrated by a BAMS doctor at Uppuguda in Old City, was exhumed on Monday. According to the police, the boy was suffering from fever on September 27 and was admitted to a private clinic at Shivajinagar under Chatrinaka police station limits.
The BAMS doctor, P. Bhavani, administered an injection after which the boy was sent home.
“After reaching home, the child developed health complications and was rushed to a private hospital at Moghalpura and was later shifted to Niloufer Hospital where he died,” additional inspector of Chatrinaka, Abdul Khader Jeelani said.
However, the parents of the boy suspected that the doctor might have administered a wrong injection which resulted in death.
“They approached us the next day and lodged a complaint against Dr Bhavani. A case was registered and requisition for the body to be exhumed was submitted to the Bandlaguda tahsildar. The body was exhu-med and a post mortem examination was conducted on Monday,” said the Inspector.
“After receiving the post-mortem report, we will take further action,” he said.
