Kerala rape case: Ex-classmates of Jisha seek CBI probe
The petitioners sought to implead themselves in the petition filed by the victim's father.
Kochi: The former classmates of Perumbavoor rape victim, Jisha, 30, on Friday moved the Kerala High Court supporting a CBI probe into the case. A petition filed by the victim's father is already pending before the court. Four women moved the court stating that they were close friends of the victim during 2010-2013 while they were pursuing the LLB course. The petitioners sought to implead themselves in the petition filed by the victim's father.
“We support the contentions of her father. We also feel unhappy over the manner in which the investigation was conducted and the final report filed,” they said. They argued that the real culprits had gone scot-free. A proper and fair investigation was warranted to book all the culprits, they said. “Being close friends of the victim, we are shocked by the cold-blooded murder. We had been closely following the case. Our statements were also recorded by the cops,” the petitioners, who included a 66-year-old woman, said.
