VISAKHAPATNAM: Over 50 students of a private school from Anakapalle miraculously escaped death in a road accident that involved three school buses on the Yarada hill under New Port Police station limits. The accident occurred when nearly 120 Class 10 and Intermediate students were returning from a picnic at Yarada beach.

The driver of the first bus lost control and crashed the bus into  a hillside on the ghat road, reportedly due to the failure of brakes.  The other two buses crashed into the first bus at high speed. The police said the condition of one of the students is serious. Two of the injured were shifted to the King George Hospital while the others were being treated at a hospital at Gajuwaka. New Port Police inspector G. Somasekhara Rao said the locals helped a lot to shift the injured students to hospitals.
