Hyderabad: 5 held for trying to dispose off fake USD 1 million note
The duo along with three others, got together and came to Hyderabad last evening and were in search of prospective customers.
Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police on Wednesday apprehended five persons including two seamen working with Merchant Navy and seized from their possession fake USD 1 million note which they were allegedly trying to sell.
Acting on credible information Special Operation Team of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate searched a lodge at Dilsukhnagar here and nabbed two seamen, besides three others, an official release issued here said.
"One year ago during one of their trips, the seamen happened to chance upon a pouch in the Captain’s cabin containing USD one million note along with its certificate and gold coated coins. They allegedly stole it and kept it in their possession," said the release.
Later they came to know that the note in their possession is a fake one so they hatched a plan to exchange it for huge amount and were allegedly on a lookout for prospective customers.
