MLA's brother arrested for land grab by Cyberabad police
Azgar, along with one Syed Meraj, made forged documents for the land and sold it to one Aslam Ibrahim in 2009-10 for Rs 90 lakh.
Hyderabad: AIMIM MLA from Nampally Jafar Hussain’s younger brother Azgar Hussain and another person were arrested by the Cyberabad police at Mailardevpally for their involvement in a land grabbing case.
Police said that the suspects had produced forged documents for land owned by others and had sold it to different persons, after registering the fake documents.
According to the police, Mohd Aslam from Mehdipatnam owned a piece of land measuring 1,520 yards in Pallecheruvu village under Mailardevpally police station limits. Azgar, along with one Syed Meraj, made forged documents for the land and sold it to one Aslam Ibrahim in 2009-10 for Rs 90 lakh.
Meanwhile, the original owner Aslam, who was abroad, returned to the city and found that his land had been grabbed by unidentified persons. He later inquired and found that Azfar had made forged documents of the land and sold it to different persons. After this discovery, Ibrahim asked Azgar to return the amount. Azgar agreed to return it and even issued post-dated cheques for the amount. However, when he did not pay the amount, the victim approached the police.
Inspector, P. Jagadeeshwar said that a case of cheating and forgery was registered against Azgar and Meraj. “After collecting the evidence, they were arrested and sent to remand. Further investigation is under way.” said the Inspector.
