Chennai: Man killed by co-workers in drunken brawl

The deceased has been identified as Abraham Lincoln (42) from Villupuram who was working at a construction site in Mylapore.

Chennai: A 42 -year-old construction worker was allegedly murdered by his co-workers in a drunken brawl in Mylapore on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Abraham Lincoln (42) from Villupuram who was working at a construction site in Mylapore.  

On Saturday night, Abraham was drinking with two of his co-workers Augustine (42) and K Manikandan (35) in the under-construction site.  A quarrel erupted among the trio and Augustine and Manikandan attacked Lincoln with wooden logs and fled the spot. On being informed by a passerby, Mylapore police rushed to the spot and sent Lincoln to Royapettah government hospital where he was declared brought dead.  

The Mylapore police registered a case and arrested Augustine and Manikandan from a hideout in Mylapore and remanded them under judicial custody.
