Hyderabad: A man killed his wife and set her and his four-month-old son ablaze, following a quarrel with his wife on Saturday night.
The incident came to light on Sunday, after locals at Kondapur village noticed the charred bodies and alerted the police.
At around 9 am on Sunday, residents of Kondapur village spotted charred bodies and immediately alerted the Ghatkesar police, who rushed to the spot along with the revenue department officials and clues team.
During inspection, the police found that there were two bodies. The remains were collected and sent to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.
Based on a complaint from Ghatkesar revenue inspector M. Venkatesham, murder and causing the disappearance of evidence cases were booked. According to the police, the bodies were identified as that of Kandiga Sushrutha, 26, and her four-month-old son. Inquiries revealed that she was married to Machala Ramesh, 27, in 2015.
For the last eight months, Sushrutha was living with her parents due to continuously quarrelling with Ramesh.
On Saturday evening, she went to Uppal to meet Ramesh, from where they went to the Outer Ring Road at Ghatkesar. The couple started arguing there and quarrelled. Following that, Sushrutha allegedly took sleeping pills and gave some by mixing it in the milk, said the police.
“Ramesh, who witnessed this waited till the duo became unconscious and took their bodies to an isolated layout at Kondapur, where he throttled and killed her. He put their bodies on a heap of sticks and set them ablaze,” police said.
