Nizamabad: Speeding car hits van, elderly couple killed

The couple were died on the spot and the injured were shifted to the district headquarter hospital in Kamareddy.

Nizamabad: An elderly couple from Kompally in Hyderabad was killed in road accident near Pondurthi in Kamareddy district on National Highway 44 on Sunday. The mishap occurred which the car the victims were travelling in rammed into a van coming from the opposite direction.

The victims were identified as Chandrasekhar Reddy, 65, and his wife Vijaya, 60, residents of Kompally. Mahipal Reddy, another person accompanying them sustained serious injuries. It is believed that tyre burst might have caused the car driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The couple were died on the spot and the injured were shifted to the district headquarter hospital in Kamareddy.

 DSP Laxminarayana visited the spot and police registered a case and are investigating.
