Chennai: Three daylight burglaries in Adambakkam
Cops suspect all three could be the handiwork of the same gang.
Chennai: In a string of daylight burglaries on Friday, three residences of which two are in the same apartment complex in Adambakkam were broken into and valuables were stolen. Cops suspect all three could be the handiwork of the same gang.
The twin-incident was reported at Mythili Apartment, TNGO Colony, Adambakkam. The burglaries came to light when marine engineer, Rangarajan (46), working in a shipping firm in Nungambakkam, returned home at around 4 pm. Burglars had cut the back window grille to gain entry into the first floor flat, and decamped with a 7-sovereign gold chain after rummaging through the entire house. The other house in the same complex burgled belonged to techie Saravanan who had been to Madurai.
One more burglary was reported in Sanjay Nagar, also in Adambakkam in which the targeted residence was identified as that of Mahesh, (50), retired CRPF personnel, who had gone out of station.
The loss of property in the last two incidents would be known after the families return to Chennai while the neighbours had already informed them about the development besides intimating cops. Cases were registered in all three instances.
