Hyderabad: Man, pals accused of his sister-in-law's rape
Police launches hunt for gang that fled after assault.
Hyderabad: The Pahadishareef police of the Rachakonda commissionerate is on the lookout for three individuals for the alleged rape of a woman on Saturday night. One of the accused is the victim’s brother-in-law.
The victim, a resident of Wadi-e-Mustafa, was alone with her children when the trio entered her house. One of them took the children away and the other two sexually assaulted her, police said.
According to Pahadishareef inspector M. Shankar, the victim, in her mid-20s, is a native of Haryana. She migrated to the city along with her husband and two children about three months ago. The husband drives an autorickshaw while she is a homemaker.
On Sunday morning, the woman and her husband approached the police and lodged a complaint alleging that her brother-in-law and his two friends trespassed had into their house on Saturday night, and the two friends molested her.
“The victim stated that around 10 pm on Saturday, the prime accused and his two friends entered her residence after they noticed that her husband was not present. The brother-in-law took her two children to another room while the other two men allegedly sexually assaulted her then left the house. She informed her husband about it and they lodged a complaint,” said the inspector.
He said that the victim was sent for medical examination. In the meanwhile, the accused trio has gone missing and teams are on the job to nab them. “A case has been registered under the relevant sections including the charges of rape for the investigation,” said inspector Shankar.
