CBI’s probe into Viveka murder is off-track: Avinash Reddy
HYDERABAD: YSRCP Member of Parliament Y.S. Avinash Reddy, facing allegations of involvement in his uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s murder, reiterated that it was a case of a murder for gain and not a heart attack.
After appearing before the CBI for questioning in the case, Avinash Reddy told reporters that the CBI has omitted important facts related to the incident and are investigating irrelevant angles.
“The manner the investigation is going ahead will benefit certain persons. It is based on hearsay,” he said.
He said that he has been maintaining silence on the issue so far keeping in mind Vivekananda’s daughter Dr N. Suneetha and with a trust on the investigating agencies.
“But the situation is misleading and party workers are also left in a state of confusion due to the developments. I want to make it clear that we did no wrong and we shall fight them legally. Justice and truth will prevail,” he said after coming out from questioning on Friday.
He also said that Vivekananda Reddy was in a relationship with a woman from 2006 and they had a son from the marriage. “They have searched his house for property documents. I strongly believe that he was killed over property issues. CBI has been cooking up false narratives from the very beginning,” he said.
He also questioned why concealing a letter found at the spot and Vivekananda’s mobile from police, was not an offence.
“Why did Suneetha’s husband Rajashekar tell the PA not to speak about them? Is it not a blunder to leave out these materials which provide strong evidence to the case?” he questioned.
The MP also clarified that he went to the spot on the request of Vivekananda’s family, checked the place and informed the police, family and relatives, but he is being blamed.
