Bengaluru: Rowdy killed, old rivalry suspected

Bengaluru: A 30-year-old rowdy was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in the K.R. Puram police station limits in the early hours of Monday. The police suspect old rivalry to be the reason behind the murder.
The deceased, Ramesh alias Dumma, was a resident of Narayanapura in K.R. Puram and was involved in a murder case in Magadi in 2005. He was an auto driver. The police said that Ramesh had dropped a passenger to Mahadevapura and had parked the auto near ITI Gate on the main road. As he was sleeping inside the auto, the gang attacked him and stabbed him.
Ramesh tried to escape, but the gang chased him and hacked him to death. The incident came to light around 1 am when the night patrolling policemen went to the spot.“We are trying to identify the assailants. It is suspected old rivalry to be the reason for the incident,” the police said.
