GHMC man had assets worth Rs 1.5 crore

Hyderabad: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday raided the residence of a GHMC tax official at Miyapur and found property worth Rs 1.5 crore.

ACB officials booked a case against GHMC tax inspector of Kukatpally, C. Vijay Kumar, for having disproportionate assets. They found documents of a flat, open plots, gold, silver, vehicles, fixed deposits and cash. ACB officials also raided  houses of Kumar’s family members and associates in Hyderabad and outskirts.

“We found that he owned a flat at Miyapur, and two open plots at Patancheru and Yadagirigutta. We recovered documents of these properties from his possession. We also recovered 1 kg gold, 2 kg silver, one Mahindra SUV, a Hyundai i10, and a Honda Activa bike,” said an ACB official.

ACB officials found that Kumar had a fixed deposit of Rs 5.8 lakh, and bank balance of Rs 1.73 lakh. He also had Rs 70,000 cash in his house. After booking a case against Mr Kumar for disproportionate assets, the ACB sleuths arrested him. He was produced before the ACB court and sent to judicial remand.
