Thiruvananthapuram: The Attingal police has registered a case against two unidentified men after a 27-year-old homemaker approached them with complaints that she was kidnapped on a motorcycle and sexually abused on June 5. While a medical examination has confirmed sexual abuse, police have found holes in the statements given by the victim.

As per the 27-year-old victim hailing from Chirayankeezhu, she had a fight with her family on June 5, Sunday. At night she served supper to her husband and ran away from home. She went to Mamom bridge at 8.30 pm and was getting ready to commit suicide when she was stopped by two youths.

Her statement adds that she was persuaded to go along with them and then two suspects came to the spot on a bike and chased the youths away. Further, they threatened to call the police. The woman who pleaded with them not to call the cops obeyed their demands to get on their bike. They then allegedly took her to a remote destination and one of them raped her. The second person attempted to rape her.

The next morning, she mustered courage and contacted her husband who picked her up at Attingal bus stand. “The policemen who checked her cell phone found out that she was engaging in constant Whatsapp chats with a guy. As per what we understand they travelled triples on a bike with a friend, crossed a paddy field and spent a night in a house. Now she has approached us complaining of sexual abuse. We have registered a case and will find the guys,” a senior police officer said.
