He was trying to grab her personal assets.

Sanathnagar police arrested K. Ramachandra Reddy, a 30-year-old realtor, for allegedly cheating G. Venkat Reddy, a businessman, of nearly Rs 25 lakh.

Hyderabad: A 45-year-old businessman was arrested by Neredmet police on Saturday for forging the death certificate of his mother while she was alive, in an attempt to claim her property.

The suspect was identified as Jandhyala Vishnu Kumar. “The suspect illegally obtained a death certificate for his mother, one Prasunamba, 70, who is still alive,” said Neredmet police inspector M. jagadish Chander.

“He also acquired a legal heir certificate and sold the ancestral property, an open plot in Guntur, by creating fake documents,” added the inspector.  Police arrested Jandhyala Vishnu Kumar and sent him to judicial custody.
