Hyderabad: Police investigating the murder of K. Apsara, allegedly by temple priest Ayyagari Sai Krishna, who dumped her body in a septic tank at a government office complex in Saroornagar and covered it with soil and concrete, said that he had formulated the perfect response if he was caught in the act.

A police officer, who interrogated the accused, said: “His story would be that the stink from the septic tank was disturbing devotees visiting the temple. To do away with the stink, as a social cause, he would claim he was filling it with soil and covering it with concrete.”

The police said, nobody saw him dumping the soil in the busy area as he scheduled the operation after office hours. No one noticed the sudden dumping of soil in the area.

The temple where Sai Krishna worked as a priest and the complex comprising the offices of the tahsildar, MEO, PHC and sub-registrar office, are located at a distance of around 100 metres.

The police said that Krishna had initially planned to dispose of Apsara’s body at Sultanpally, under Shamshabad police limits, where he killed her, but later changed his mind and drove back with the body on June 4.
