Fake army officer arrested in Bengal

Kolkata: A fake Army officer was arrested in a joint operation by the military and police from Salugara in Siliguri on Monday.

The accused, Dalchand Verma, is a resident of Lower MG Marg at Gangtok in Sikkim. According to Sukna-based Trishakti Corps of the Eastern Command, Dalchand was posing as a Lieutenant Colonel of the Artillery regiment of the Army and was involved in fake recruitment and forgery of documents.

A mobile phone, blank forms for enrolment in Army and a photocopy of his UID card was recovered.
