Kurnool records less crime this year
Crimes wane in faction-ridden Kurnool.
Kurnool: With constant counselling, weekly grievance redressals, use of modern technology and empathetic policing, micro management, the Kurnool police has controlled the crime rate. Once labelled as the faction ridden district, Kurnool has come a long way in seeing less blood spilled while settling scores with rivals. But Kurnool superintendent of police Gopinath Jatti said, “Much more needs to be done.” Be it Rs 5.5 crore highway robbery near Dhone, daylight murders in Nandyal, Pattikonda, Dhone, Kodumuru, the police have swung into action and quickly nabbed culprits.
Speaking to this correspondent, Mr Jatti said that proactive policing with good strategies in crime management had yielded them the result during the year. Though ‘matka’, ‘satta’/ and other evils that had eaten into the vitals of the society still persist, the Kurnool SP said that they are zeroing in on the source of crime to eliminate it forever.
