Telangana officer held for Rs 1.23 crore disproportionate assets

Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has unearthed assets worth about Rs 1.23 crore allegedly belonging to a Mandal Parishad Development Officer in Warangal Urban district of Telangana.
On credible information, a case of disproportionate assets was registered against the officer, M Chandramouli, and simultaneous searches were conducted at his residences and those of his relatives and associates in Warangal and other places on Wednesday, an ACB release said in Hyderabad on Thursday.
The searches revealed Chandramouli possessed assets worth Rs 1.23 crore which were disproportionate to his known sources of income, it said.
The market value of these properties, which included two houses, 16 plots, one car, one bike, 239 gm gold jewellery and household articles, is about Rs 6 crore, the ACB said.
Chandramouli was arrested and the case is under investigation, the release added.
