Hyderabad: Dr Shashi's bullets, DL seized, car given to kin

The investigation into the firing incident would continue, says senior police official.

Hyderabad: Police seized 14 live rounds of bullets and the driving license of Dr Shashi Kumar from his car and handed over the car, briefcase and other documents to his family members on Wednesday night.

Dr Kumar’s case hasn’t been closed and the investigation into the firing incident will continue, said DCP Kamalasan Reddy.

After firing at his partner on Monday, Dr Kumar had fled to a private farmhouse in Moinabad, where he was found dead on Tuesday morning.Police had recovered Dr Kumar’s abandoned car and had taken it to the police station.

On Wednesday, the car was opened in the presence of Dr Shashi’s brother Mr Ravi and other relatives. Police found 14 live .32 mm rounds, his briefcase, cheque books and other documents in the car.

“We seized the bullets and his driving license and handed over the briefcase, cheque books and other documents to his brother Ravi Kumar,” said Mr B. Kamalasan Reddy.

He said that though Dr Sai Kumar was dead, the investigation into the firing incident would continue. “The case is not closed. We are investigating all the angles related to the incident,” the DCP added.

During a heated argument with his friends Dr Uday Kumar and Dr Sai Kumar on Monday evening, Dr Sashi Kumar had fired at Dr Uday and fled.

On Tuesday morning he was found dead with a bullet injury on his head at a farmhouse in the Moinabad area.
