Telangana: Goldsmiths arrested for theft; stolen gold seized
Ganesh and Dipenka were working for Koley since 2012 on daily wages.
Hyderabad: Two goldsmiths from Odisha who cheated their employer in Hyderabad, and decamped with around 500 gm gold jewellery on the pretext of selling it to customers in Odisha, were arrested by Rachakonda police on Saturday. Police recovered the jewellery intact. The suspects are Ganesh Jana and Dipenka Jana. Rachakonda additional DCP (crimes) D. Janaki said that both the suspects were working for complainant Koley Asto Kumar who was running a jewellery shop in Bandlaguda for around 15 years. Ganesh and Dipenka were working for Koley since 2012 on daily wages.
“A few weeks ago they took 53.7 tola gold jewellery saying that they would show it to potential customers in West Bengal and clinch a good deal. Believing them he gave them the jewellery,” Ms Janaki said. But the suspects who went with the jewellery did not return. Based on the victim’s complaint teams went to Cuttack, nabbed them and shifted them to Hyderabad on transit warrant. The duo were remanded and the property was recovered. The case is being investigated.
