Hyderabad: Man stabs wife suspecting her fidelity
Padmaja was the sole bread winner of the house.
Hyderabad: Suspecting fidelity, a 55-year-old unemployed man stabbed his 45-year-old wife with a butcher’s knife and later tried to kill himself at their residence in Vanasthalipuram on Monday.
Vanasthalipuram inspector A. Venkataiah said that the couple M. Krishna Reddy and M. Padmaja were residents of BDL Colony in Vanasthalipuram. Padmaja was the sole bread winner of the house. She was supporting the family by doing tailoring work. Reddy used to harass her suspecting her fidelity.
“On Monday evening, when Padmaja was busy with the household chores, Reddy attacked her with a butcher’s knife. When she ran out of the house crying for help, Reddy followed her and later stabbed himself. The injured were rushed to a hospital by locals for treatment. Padmaja’s condition is said to be critical,” said the inspector, adding that a case will be registered after taking acomplaint from the two sons of the injured couple.
