No VIP treatment for accused in Jubilee Hills gangrape case
Minors lodged at the juvenile home were closely watched by opposition parties
Hyderabad: The juveniles in the Jubilee Hills gangrape case who are lodged at Saidabad juvenile home are unable to get any special VIP treatment as all eyes of the Opposition parties are said to be closely watching them.
Any slip on the part of the police or authorities by giving the accused special care would hit back on the government, so they were not taking any chances, sources said.
Sources revealed that due to the pressure on the case from all sections, it was difficult for the accused to get any special care at the juvenile home. “However, they might have been given permissions to talk or even secretly meet their families once they were at the police station for questioning, apart from being given special food,” said an advocate, adding that such ‘arrangements’ were normal in cases involving VIP families.
“The minors lodged at the juvenile home were closely watched by the opposition parties, who were waiting for a chance to hit back at the Telangana government for their biased behaviour towards the VIP children involved in the gangrape. No risk was taken by the police or the authorities in this regard,” he added.
On Saturday, the minors were taken to the Jubilee Hills police station from the juvenile home as it was not possible for them to question them on their premises.
