Chandrababu Naidu mixes up survey numbers, says revenue babus, cops corrupt
He said about 79 per cent people were satisfied with the performance of state government.
Hyderabad: The survey figures announced by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the public’s satisfaction with his government are confusing. Announcing the survey figures in the meeting of Heads of the Departments (HoDs) and Secretaries on Friday at Vijayawada, the Chief Minister said that about 40 per cent people in the state were satisfied with the performance of the Telugu Desam government in the last two years.
He said that about 40 per cent people expressed their opinion on the state government performance as “not bad”. The Chief Minister told officials that they should bring 40 per cent people who mentioned “not bad” to the satisfied level. A day before this meeting, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister held a meeting with party senior leaders and ministers. There too he quoted survey figures.
He said about 79 per cent people were satisfied with the performance of state government and about 80.5 per cent people were satisfied with his individual performance. At the HoDs meeting, Mr Naidu said that if the 40 per cent people who expressed their opinion as “not bad” were also brought to the satisfied level, then 80 per cent of the people will support the TD government.
He, however, said that 20 per cent people were against to the government for various reasons. Among them also, the Chief Minister said some are satisfied with the performance of the state government. Mr Naidu informed the heads of departments that corruption in the state government has decreased. But he did not reveal figures. While claiming that the revenue and police departments are at number one position in corruption, the Chief Minister warned the officials that he “will not tolerate corruption at any level”. Regarding the industries department, the Chief Minister expressed happiness and said that even he did not know about some of the industries which were set up in the last two years. He said many industrialists not only at national level but also at International level were interested in the state.
