Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police on Wednesday invoked Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act against four women who were arrested on various occasions for running a prostitution racket.

The four women, who hail from Ganesh Nagar of Yadagirigutta Town, had formed a syndicate and were running a brothel in the house of one of them, named Kamsani Sandhya.

“They used to lure women, including minors, from their own community and other parts of the district by offering money and a luxurious life and later drag them into prostitution. They would collect huge amounts from customers and pay meagre amounts to the women. They were also dragging the youth in to prostitution and spoiling their bright future and health as well," said Rachakonda commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat.

Earlier also they were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on the charges of running a brothel. Though, the police raided the premises a number of times and conducted awareness programmes in association with NGOs, they continued to indulge in immoral activities, the police said.
