The 70-year-old man, a resident of Tolichowki on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the city cyber crime stating that he had received constant threat calls from a person posing as Fedex international employee.

The complainant mentioned that the caller two weeks back had called him stating that he works an international courier company and there has been smuggling of tiger skin to a foreign country on his name, police said.

According to police, when the old man questioned the caller, he said that he was informed by a senior officer from CBI that he would be arrested by CBI officers for poaching of tiger skin if refused to pay ₹20 lakh immediately.

The senior citizen panicked and transferred ₹20 lakh in the imposter’s account, a cybercrime officer said.
