Hyderabad: A 15-year-old student hailing from Vikarabad district committed suicide at the government run Telangana Social Welfare Residential School (Boys) in Vanasthalipuram on Sunday night. The police registered a case of suspicious death and reportedly recovered some notes from the boy’s room.
According to Vanasthalipuram sub-inspector D. On Sunday evening, Khaleed went to the library in the school. His friends thought that he had gone there to study and when they went looking for him at night, he was found hanging to the ceiling of the library.
Vijay said, “Khaleed was last seen alive going into the library. He was later found hanging from the ceiling with a plastic pipe tied to his neck. The body was handed over to his father Md Rukmuddin after the autopsy at Osmania General Hospital mortuary.”
“The boy’s parents alleged harassment and frequent beating by the school principal, Yesupadam, as a reason for Khaleed to end his life. A case has been registered under section 305 IPC and the investigation is on,” said Vijay.
Meanwhile, Balala Hakkula Sangham, a city-based child rights organisation, demanded severe action against the principal. The organisation also called for action against other staff of the institution for not stopping the cruelty of the principal and failing to inform the higher authorities.
