Telangana: Medical student hit by tipper dies 2 weeks before wedding

The accident occured when the victim, a second year ayurveda student was with her fiance on his bike.

A second year Ayurveda student from Khammam died on spot after she and her fiance were hit by a tipper near Kothapet.

Hyderabad: A second year Ayurveda student from Khammam died on spot after she and her fiance were hit by a tipper near Kothapet.  Their marriage was fixed on on November 24. The accident took place between Kothapet and Dilsukhnagar road. The victim, J. Geetha Sri, 20, succumbed to her injuries on the spot whereas her fiance, who sustained serious injuries, is undergoing treatment in a hospital. Her marriage was fixed with Sabarinath, who was driving the bike when the accident occu-rred. According to victim’s friends, Geetha was a medical enthusiast and wanted to be an Ayurveda doctor. She was pursuing her second year bachelors course in Ayurveda medicine and surgery at Sri Adi Siva Sadguru Alli Saheb Sivaaryula Ayur-vedic Medical College, Anantapur.

“Geetha and Sabarinath knew each other for several years and their marriage was suppose to take place on November 24,” a close acquaintance said. According to a family member, the truck came at a high speed and dashed them. The girl fell on the left side and was run over by the truck and the boy fell on the right side with the bike.  Geetha and Sabarinath along with their relatives were on a shopping spree. Though Geetha was asked to board a car, she insisted on coming with Sabarinath. According to the police, the accident took place due to rash driving of the truck driver who is absconding.
