3 arrested for selling ganja to students
The police took the peddlers to various schools in the area and identified their customers.
Hyderabad: Zaheerabad Town police on Tuesday arrested three persons for selling ganja to students of various educational institutions. The police seized about six kilograms of the contraband from their possession.
Acting on a tip off, a police team led by sub inspector B Satyanarayana caught Mohd Miskin, 35, Shahna-waz, 43 and Jameel Ahmed, 60. “The trio was selling the contraband to the students of various educational institutions at Rs 50 per five-gram packet,” said Mr Satyanarayana.
On questioning, the trio told the police that they had procured the ganja from some agents in Bidar in Karnataka at a cheaper price and were selling it at Zaheerabad.
The police took the peddlers to various schools in the area and identified their customers. “A few youngsters were counselled in the presence of their parents and school managements as they are minors. We will soon organise awareness programmes across the city,” the SI said.
