Man flees to Mumbai after threat to life
On Monday night, Sattaiah called the police and said that he was in Mumbai, following which he was brought back.
Hyderabad: A man shocked his relatives and local people when he went missing from his residence in LB Nagar on June 5. Dyagari Sattaiah, 36, had called up his brother in Warangal on the same day and told him that he noticed three men at his door and that he was scared that they might hurt him.
When his brother, Dyagari Kanakaiah, 45, rushed to rescue him, he found the door locked from outside and some blood stains on the porch which triggered panic and made him call the police.
“A missing case was lodged with the police and an investigation had begun. On Monday night, Sattaiah called the police and said that he was in Mumbai, following which the officials brought him back. He told us that he feared for his life after he was threatened by Mukkera Tirupati Reddy, husband of Sujata, the Sarpanch of Dabbagunta village in May,” said P. Kasi Reddy, Inspector of LB Nagar police, adding that he knocked his head on the way out, leaving the blood stain.
“He organised a pada yatra on May 14 to protest against the lax approach of the Sarpanch in laying roads in the village. Tirupati was displeased after the incident and he called this as an attempt to defame his wife. Thus, an angry Tirupati called up Sattaiah and threatened to kill him and his family, if he did not stop,” the official said.
Sattaiah registered a case with the LB Nagar police station.
