Two Romanians arrested for 'ATM fraud

Hyderabad: Two Romanian natives who cloned debit cards and siphoned off Rs 35 lakh from ATMs were detained on Tuesday under the Preventive Detention Act invoked by Cyberabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar.
The duo has been identified as Vasile Gabriel Razvan, 38, and Buricea Alexandru Mihai, 23. They came to Hyderabad on business visas in December 2017 and so far, cloned over 2,400 debit cards with the help of other two accomplices named Ticu Bogdan Costinel, 38, a truck driver, and Puica Eugan Marian, 35, who are absconding.
Vasile and Buricea used to target unguarded ATM booths and install skimmers and camera panels on the machines. Using these, they collected customer data and cloned the ATM cards.
