Telangana: 11 organs of two brain-dead victims donated

Kumar was admitted to Care Hospital in Vizag and he was pronounced brain dead by the medical team of Care Hospitals.

Hyderabad: The families of two accident victims who were declared brain-dead have donated 11 organs to the government’s Jeevandan scheme. 

M. Anusha, 24, met with an accident while riding a bike near JNTU. A resident of Guntur who was working with a technology company in the city, Anusha suffered a major head injury. On July 10, she was declared brain-dead by a neuro-surgeon. Her mother M. Kumari and sister Ramya agreed to donate her organs — two kidneys, two corneas and her liver. 

Suryapet resident B. Venkatesh, 25, was hit by a car and sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, but was declared brain-dead when he did not respond to treatment. His mother B. Mangamma agreed to donate his heart and liver, both kidneys and both corneas to the Jeevandan scheme.
