Hyderabad: West Zone police have busted a drug racket by arresting three East African nationals. Police also seized three kilograms of marijuana (ganja) and a weighing machine from the suspects.
The trio had been selling weed to youngsters in Mehdipatnam area. They were believed to have been smuggling the drugs from Vizag.
The three are nationals of Rwanda. They were identified as Nizeyimana Santos, 28; Ruganza Patrick, 23, an engineering student with NOVA College, Vijayawada; and Kabalisa Richard, 31. The three were residing at Minar Colony in Langar Houz.
According to police, inspector C. Anjaiah and his team raided their flat early on Tuesday following an alert and seized the ganja which the three were packing into small sachets for its disposal.
“They must have sourced it through Vizag. During interrogation, they said that they had procured it from one Richards, who is absconding. His arrest will reveal further details,” Inspector Anjaiah said.
