GMC Employee Gets Memo Over Fake Certificate
VIJAYAWADA: Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) has issued a charge memo to an employee for submitting a fake medical certificate and not taking up the assigned post.
GMC commissioner Keerthi Chekuri said typist L. Sridevi had gone on long leave after submitting a fake medical certificate last month. In the process, she did not assume charge of the post in revenue department. Sridevi also did not take permission from authorities for going on long leave.
The commissioner said as a result, administration work of GMC got disrupted.
Following this, the additional commissioner investigated Sridevi's behaviour and sent her medical certificate for inspection. The medical board examined the report and cited it as fake.
Following this, Keerthi Chekuri said a charge memo has been issued against Sridevi under Andhra Pradesh Civil Service Rules-1991 for misrepresentation. Sridevi will have to give a written explanation within 10 days.
The commissioner asked employees to perform duties with dedication and accountability. She warned of stern action in case they violate norms and rules.
