Vijayawada: Couple end life over financial crisis

Vijayawada: Family conflicts led a couple to end their life at  Konayapalem village of Chandarlapadu mandal in Krishna district. The dead identified as Kannekanti Dasu, 45, and Kannekanti Bujji, 41, had consumed pesticide. The police officials shifted the bodies for post-mortem to Nandigama mortuary, a case has been registered and investigation is on. The couple are survived by two sons and a daughter, who have become orphans after the death.

According to Chandarla Padu Sub-Inspector K. Durga Prasad said the Dalit couple had financial issues.  Initially, Dasu threatened Bujji of consuming pesticide and committing suicide and Bujji in reaction, consumed the pesticide. Dasu on seeing Bujji committing suicide had consumed the pesticide and ended his life. The couple was shifted to Nandigama government hospital where doctors declared them bought dead. When the incident happened, their younger son, who is 17-year-old was alone at home and his 20-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son were away.
