Bhubaneswar: A man on Tuesday killed his wife and two minor daughters at Petapalli village under Odagaon police station limits in Odisha's Nayagarh district, the police said.

The accused Bhagirathi Nayak surrendered before the police after strangulating his wife Pratima and two daughters at the premises of a school, said T K Reddy, SDPO, Sarankul.

While Nayak claimed family dispute as the reason behind the killing, Reddy said the police have been investigating all angles.

Police said Nayak and Pratima had a love marriage.

While the elder daughter was from Pratima's earlier marriage, Nayak was father of a five-month old girl.
