155 unregistered cab drivers caught travelling in Cyberabad

Hyderabad: More than 155 cab drivers were caught travelling without registration documents in Cyberabad between 11 am and 2 pm on Tuesday. The Cyberabad traffic police have started conducting special drives to nab such errant drivers to improve safety, especially for female commuters. 

A few safety-related incidents have been reported in the recent past, in response to which the police is implementing steps to keep a tab on cab drivers. On Tuesday, within the span of three hours, 156 cases were booked and 29 cabs were detained by the traffic police. The special drive was conducted by cops holding up banners which read “Women’s Safety is Our Concern”.
