Three killed in freak road accident

HYDERABAD: In a freak mishap, a pedestrian crossing the national highway and a couple on bike died in an accident at Medchal on Monday. The bike first hit the pedestrian, went out of control and fell down.

A trolley truck passing in the same direction ran over the couple. All three died on the spot, said S Rajashekar Reddy, inspector of Medchal police station.

The victims were identified as Naveen Reddy (34) of Gundlapochampally, Sakilam Sairaj (27) and his ife Sakilam Sarika (24) residents of Kondapur. The two belonged to Ramayampet in Medak district.

While police registered a case against the truck driver, CCTV footage of the incident showed that Naveen Reddy while crossing the road, suddenly stopped and was hit by the bike. Further investigation is underway, the police said.
