Kadapa police crack jewellery store theft case
Anantapur: Kadapa police have cracked the case of theft at a jewellery store in Kadapa by arresting two persons on Tuesday. They recovered ₹40.70 lakh worth of gold jewellery from them.
The theft had taken place from the jewellery store situated near Ammavarishala of Kadapa in the wee hours of September 4.
According to police, Shaik Khalid Ahmed is the son of Shaik Nisar Ahmed, who works in the jewellery store.
Khalid stole the store keys when his father had returned home after closing the jewellery shop. Khalid then went to the shop along with his friends Mohammad Firoze, Fahad Khan and Syed Noor Ahmed. They opened the lock of the jewellery shop and stole 808 grams of gold ornaments.
Following a complaint from the store owner Shaik Kazam, Kadapa Two Town police registered a case and started investigations. A team led by Kadapa DSP M.D Shareef analysed the CCTV footage from nearby places. Fingerprint experts also lifted some samples from the crime scene.
Kadapa SP Siddharth Kaushal said they are looking for the other two accused in the crime.
