4 people, including 2 kids, dead in Belagavi road accident

The deceased have been identified as Phakeerappa, Gangavva and their two children, aged two and four years.

Belagavi: Four people, including two children, died on the spot when a two-wheeler, in which they were travelling, was hit by a four-wheeler at Mache, on city's outskirts late Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Phakeerappa, Gangavva and their two children, aged two and four years. According to sources, the four were on their way to Belagavi to attend a jathra at Khanapur, when a jeep rammed into their two-wheeler. The jeep driver abandoned the vehicle and fled.

Though they were shifted to hospital immediately, they were declared brought dead. Belagavi police have registered a case, seized the vehicle and launched a manhunt for the driver.
