Nellore: In a major breakthrough, the Nawabpet police on Friday cracked the mystery behind the recent sensational murder of a builder, Nellore Sirish, 37, of Kovur in the busy Atmakur bus stand area at about 8 pm on October 5.
According to the Nellore town Dy SP, N.M.B. Murali Krishna, Sirish’s former partner, Sadepalli Sobhan Kumar of Nellore, unable to bear Sirish’s success in the real estate business, devised the plan to eliminate him. To murder Sirish, he hired nine persons through his advisor Bhupati and his friend Arava Surendra.
Sobhan organised a meeting on September 29, 2018 with the accused persons and gave them details of Sirish’s movements. Based on the information, the accused prepared a plan to kill Sirish and followed him on October 4 evening, but in vain.
They could not execute the plan due to some unavoidable circumstances on that day. Armed with beer bottles and iron rods, the nine persons hired by Sobhan followed Sirish in motorcycles when he was riding a Royal Enfield bike on October 5 evening and attacked him near the Atmakur bus stand.
The goons, wearing masks, hit him on the head with beer bottles and iron rods and left the scene after confirming that he was dead. Sobhan paid Rs 8 lakh to the offenders and left for Chennai along with his advisor Bhupati.
