Tour agent held for shooting at cafe owner in Varkala cliff

Thiruvananthapuram: The police arrested a tour booking agent for allegedly shooting a restaurant owner at Varkala cliff on Tuesday.  The man escaped unhurt as three of the fired bullets missed him. The accused was identified as Shibin Philip of Alappuzha. 

He shot at one Shyam Kumar who runs Darjeeling Cafe restaurant following a tiff at the helipad on the cliff. Mr Philip runs a booking counter that offers houseboat trips at Alappuzha. The duo had a long-standing rivalry. The weapon used was a country made .303 revolver which was suspected to be bought from Bihar, an official said.
