Drug kingpin Edwin Nunes detained under PD Act

Hyderabad: The city police on Monday detained under the PD Act, Goa-based drug kingpin Edwin Nunes and his associate Preetish Borkar. The duo had been earlier arrested by the city police.

City police commissioner C.V. Anand issued the detention orders. Nunes, who has three cases against him in the city, is out on bail, while Borkar is in judicial remand.

The city police first arrested Borkar and another drug peddler, Stephen, in August. Based on their confession, police arrested Nunes in November. A court granted him conditional bail, directing him to appear before the Lalaguda police every day and once a week at the Osmania University and Ramgopalpet police stations.
