Cyberabad cops nab man involved in 20 burglaries

HYDERABAD: Jeedimetla police of Cyberabad commissionerate on Tuesday arrested Kamma Singh alias Karan Singh hailing from Karnataka and detected 20 house burglary cases in which he was involved.

Karan Singh who is into moulding steel items, would commit the offences after his routine of consuming alcohol, eating biryani and watch a late night movie, To leave no clues, he always wore a monkey cap and hand gloves. He would also not wear footwear, while committing offences and moved around only on foot, till he found his booty.

DCP Balanagar T Srinivas Rao said he was earlier convicted in a rape case in Karnataka and after serving seven years prison, moved to Hyderabad and started committing offences. “ Based on clues from CCTV footage and other leads, he was nabbed,” DCP said.

Stolen property related to six cases in Cyberabad, four in Rachakonda, seven in Hyderabad and three in Kamareddy districts, worth Rs 30 lakh was recovered from his possession, the DCP said.

Inquiries revealed that Singh was also involved in property offences in Cyberabad a decade ago. After coming out on bail, he went back to Karnataka, where he was involved in a rape case and was sentenced to prison.

After completing prison term, he moved to Hyderabad and set up his moulding unit in Suraram. While working in the unit during the day, he would break into locked houses and looted valuables at night. He looted only cash and gold articles, but never touched other valuables in any home, the police found. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial remand.
