Tamil folk singer Kovan held for anti-Modi song

It was also alleged that Kovan had abused' Sri Modi during the recent VHP's rath yatra' here recently.

TIRUCHY: The city police on Friday arrested Kovan, a Tamil folk singer and activist of ‘Makkal Athikaram’, for allegedly singing a song making fun of the Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi, during their agitation to press for the formation of the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) near the head post office here recently. 

It was also alleged that Kovan had ‘abused’ Sri Modi during the recent VHP’s ‘rath yatra’ here recently. 

Based on a complaint from the BJP’s Tiruchy district unit, police arrested the singer and he was later released on conditional bail by Judicial magistrate-I Mr. Gowthaman.
