Hyderabad: Speeding bike runs over kid
Unidentified biker flees from the scene following accident.
Hyderabad: A five-year-old boy who was crossing the road near his house was mowed down by a speeding bike at Jawaharnagar on Monday.
The victim, identified as Boya Hari Krishna, a Class I student at Ambedkarnagar, Jawaharnagar. Krishna’s father B. Mallikarjun had migrated to the city only about 15 days ago and had started living in a rented house at Nacharam Fire Victims Colony in Jawaharnagar
On Monday, at about 10.30 am, Hari Krishna who was playing near his house was crossing the road near Noble School in Ambedkarnagar, police said citing the complaint.
All of the sudden, a speeding bike (TS08 FN 6649) going from Balajinagar to Dammaiguda hit Krishna. The child was flung in the air under the force of the impact and fell on his head. He died on the spot.
A Jawaharnagar police officer said, “The rash and negligent driving of the bike rider resulted in the death of the boy who was crossing the road.”
He said that the motorcycle rider fled after the accident. A case has been registered under IPC Section 304A (causing death by negligence) based on the complaint of the father. A search is on to nab rider.
